there's something about chinatown, especially the one in toronto....ahh, montreal too, it's so humid, everyone is drenched in sweat, it pours down your back, your forehead, it just is relentless.....i always feel like a colonial swine, hunting for a bargain, usually have a summer hat on, and the stores are soooo packed with stuff its hard to turn around, even breathe sometimes.......
i just saw my first protest of the G20 summit here in toronto, about a thousand protesters, followed by a hundred or so cops......on bikes!!!
add to it the world cup soccer madness and this city feels like it's ready to blow.....the people of toronto are pissed about the heavy police presence, hell, even in kensington market, we were sitting on a patio having a couple refreshing bevvies when squad upon squad of cycling and walking police marched through, and everyone heckled them, shouting things like, "i have no i.d." or "i'm underage!" and stuff like that, it was pretty funny........anyways, i'm glad i'm getting out of here....!!!
until next time kids,
cb
