re: all i know is this.....

hello friends, fiends, fans, foe and lovers,

here's my new video poem called, "All I know is this...." and it's from my new book, "A moon made of copper," published by Kegedonce Press.

it was filmed last year in spences bridge, bc, lytton, bc, botanie valley and stein valley bc.

this part of my new challenge, goal of making a film a week and uploading online here and various other social network platforms.

i recently lost my youngest brother to cancer, the day after he died i quit drinking and made a commitment to improve my own health. part of that commitment is getting back into a creative frame of mind and continue pushing boundaries and to challenge myself. over the years i've gotten jaded as fuck, kind of tired and miserable. i felt trapped once again. but these days, i'm feeling good, and moving beyond feeling trapped to, "how do i escape?" haha.

i want to go to europe and play shows, have exhibitions, do readings, go to music festivals and perform in front of tens of thousands of people. how does one get there? lots of hard work. i lost sight of this trapped in my own prison, in my own mind. but i'm ready now to giver and take no prisoners. life is short. live it hard and live it good, who knows what happens afterwards?

until next time lovers,

chris bose.

re: grand forks.

hello lovers,

hope all is well in your world, i'm winding down a hell of a year in the arts and film, been on the road since january and have gone across canada and back. for some reason, i was in the west the most i have been in 7 years, and had over 6 exhibitions and so on. as well as about 100 workshops in the arts and filmmaking. 2 artist residencies and so on.

just spent some time down in grand forks, bc, and it was awesome. a beautiful place, and the people were really nice. i made some new friends and had some great times and shot a great little documentary that's going to go into the art gallery along with a piece by terry jackson. there's some decent pizza at "Rumour's," restuarant that they sell by the slice in the day and have different deals throughout the week as well as great desserts. it's across from the high school. as well the "Station pub," has really good pub fare and the staff was really awesome and nice. i had lamb growlers a few times. awesome. then i asked if they could just make me a lamb burger and said "no problem," and it was kick ass. it also has a huge safe from the old days at the bar (2800 pounds, i guess 2500, pretty close!) and was the original train station in town.

if you go downtown there's a coffee shop called "joga's," and they have great snacks and awesome coffee, as well, if you want kick ass coffee there's "Jitter's," beside the DQ and it is really good. Apparently there's a coffee wagon but i never found it, and it's a musician who supports his music habit selling the java and is very particular and passionate about it. i did have the coffee and it was the best. I went to a rock shop that was closing, sadly, bought scored some great deals on various rocks. there was also a pawn shop that was open late, i.e. after 5 pm. i also went for a couple awesome trips around town, up hardy mountain and got some great panorama shots of the valley, which runs East/West, and went to a creek/gorge (kettle creek?!) where one of Nicolai Tesla's 60 cycle tests was performed the first time. as well i went up to Christina lake for their open mic and heard some great music, including bob the lounge singer.

anyway, that is just a bit of it, overall i had a great time, and yes, had some amazing borscht.

peace out y'all!!!

Hey friends, fans, foe and lovers,

some stop motion from my time spent in grand forks, bc. it was an awesome trip, we made an excellent short documentary film and things went amazingly smooth.

i'll be uploading some of the things we filmed and worked on while i was there, the weather was pretty good, so we had awesome skies to work with and film.

until next time lovers,
