re: new mural images!!!!

Hello Lovers,

it's been awhile and i apologize, i've been busy working on a variety of projects and life in general. here are some images from a mural i did with several TREC youth at a building called the "Emerald Centre," here in Kamloops, BC. It's an emergency shelter for men and women and they wanted something positive, with roots, balance, and vibrant and bright.

Legal walls and murals are a strange beast in this town, to get this project off the ground from concept to completion took over three months. the actual work on the mural took 10 days. weird eh?
But at least we did it and it was great fun, and the first time i've ever worked with a crew of all boys, or teenage boys.

re: street legal.....

hi lovers,

here's some street art that myself and KAST painted recently at a local high school in Kamloops, BC. after several years of doing FREE workshops in high schools, it feels good to finally get somewhere. although now, there's plenty of competition whereas there once none before. we started a good thing, and now others are getting on the workshop train. it's crazy. we're trying to show people that street art is vibrant, colourful, a safe means of self-expression, not gang related, not vandalism if done legally and properly. 

we did this in about an hour and a half. when we get going we can crush it out quickly.

as you can see, we start with 6 sheets of plywood

at 4 x 8 feet in size.

they were from an art show we had at Arnica Artist Run Centre

we never buffed the wood, we just painted over them

at this time of year, buffing a wall means waiting over an hour

for the paint to dry before you can start painting.

I did two new fun characters and KAST wrote

some fresh new letters.

literally it is an explosion of colour.

Juxtaposed against the bland wall

of the high school, it just leaps out

adding much needed colour and life.

i keep rolling out the hits, i feel like i'm boxing again! one, two, three, knockout! haha. kidding.

some photos from the graffiti workshops we did at TRU last month, it feels like forever ago already. damn. 

we painted 80 feet of wall 5 times in 5 days. these kids were maniacs! thanks to the kamloops art gallery and marlaina buch, i hope i got your name right, for coordinating that shit for us. it was hella tight and lots of fun! the kids slayed it!

hello lovers,

i'm listening to "queens of the stone age." and love it.

so, at the arbour HQ we've got some big ideas coming in the next few years. mind blasting. hopefully we'll get support and rally people around to help really create a creative music, literary and arts scene here in the loops. a place where people don't exodus like mad, but rather come and do a sabbatical, a creative time to rejuvenate and make new works.

anyways, we'll get to that soon enough.
