it's 5 in the morning, closer to 6 am now actually, and i've been up getting coffee ready, doing regular things on a sunday morning. i've got a bunch of plants started to have my patio garden, the usual, tomotoes, snap peas, beans, herbs like oregano, sweet basil and the like. even some strawberry plants. some trees, i think they're douglas fir, i'm going to plant with my kids, so they'll have something like a legacy project to keep checking as time goes on when i'm gone.
life is good, i've got work to do, for some reason i was remembering some time on the road, and sitting in a pub in cache creek b.c., it was empty, the afternoon and i was shooting pool by myself listening to crappy country music, chatting up the female bartender. asking her about the town, what where the busy nights, and how it was going?
regulars streamed in, mostly retirees just waiting and running down the clock, having a pint with tomatoe juice, watching sports updates or playing keno.
the hills surrounding it are beautiful, actually, one of my favourite drives is from hope to kamloops on the transcanada. the scenery is amazing. i suggest you do it sometime. anyway, highland valley copper is the big employer in that town, as well as ashcroft, and they'll disappear when the mine closes in some 20 years. ghost towns. you pass through a lot of them when you drive across canada.
well, i gotta go, i've got a shitload of new digital art waiting to be finished, and i'm experimenting and having fun with drawing, painting and the like. dirty hands are hard working hands.
in the meantime, i've got music to make as well, firing on all cylinders these days and i'm gonna burn it bright. i have a new gibson explorer, and i'm going to make that guitar sing and scream. i will post a video later of me messing around on it. haha.
all the bets,
cb
